This is a video from the stern of the Viking Neptune as we go from the middle Gatun Lock to the last Gatun Lock. There are three total that raise the ship roughly 85 feet to the level of Gatun Lake. You will see the electric “mules” controlling the stern go up the hill to the level of the third lock and you will see the ship pass by the set of two gates that are recessed into the walls that will close once we are all the way inside the last lock. The water level will be raised from water flowing from Gatun Lake into the third lock. The tug boat in the distance behind us is just tagging along, it was not there to assist us, it was just going back up to the Gatun Lake level to go over to the new locks to assist ships to transit through them.
