The Viking Neptune is going through the Gatun Locks. Our ship is going from Lock #1 into Lock #2. There are three locks to get from the Atlantic Ocean elevation to Lake Gatun’s elevation. There is a container ship heading in the opposite direction on the other side. Notice how high the water is in the lock behind the container ship. That is the difference in elevation for each lock transit.
