Video of the Changing Of The Guard in London. The first part shows the “old guard” heading to Buckingham Palace. They have the Bear Fur Hats and are led by the band. The next section shows the Horse Guard heading to Buckingham Palace. The last section shows the “new guard” heading to St. James Castle. They are a different regiment and do not wear the Bear Fur hats. All of the guards and bands, one for each of the new and old guards, meet at Buckingham Palace and parade there together. That area around the Place was extremely crowded, so our guide had us staged us out on “The Mall”, the large street going to Buckingham Palace. It was better for photos of each guard unit, but we did not see them all together, which is the traditional “picture” of “video” people normally see. Also, since it was winter, they wore their gray coats, so we did not see the red uniforms underneath.
