Below is the Itinerary for our Trip to Italy. We took considerable time to plan out where we wanted to visit, and for how long, trying to work around museum closings on Mondays, which is typical in Europe. Also, we tried hard to avoid having to travel on a Sunday, due to the more limited train schedules on Sundays, but were not entirely able to accomplish that in moving from Varenna to Riomaggiore, which will cause us some minor travel difficulties. In addition, other than a single night stopover after we arrive in Milan and a last minute addition of an overnight stay in Assisi, for the most part we made a conscience decision to avoid short stays.
