Sea Day 6 – February 3, 2017

It was nice to have a sea day for relaxation after having three consecutive port days, even though we did not really have to get up early on any of the port days.  None the less, it is just more relaxing on sea days.

We slept in this morning, and awoke to sunny skies, and slightly choppy seas.  The wind was now mostly coming from astern as we head back north, so we knew it would not be as windy out on the open decks as it had been when we were heading south to the ABC Islands.

Stephanie and I  opted to skip breakfast this morning, we were still full from the wonderful dinner we had last night at the Crown Grille.  We headed out to walk the Promenade deck for our exercise, and it was much more enjoyable with the calmer winds across the decks.

Of course, Stephanie and I then headed to the Outrigger Bar to have our usual late morning beverages, a Peach Bellini for Stephanie and a Bloody Caesar for me.  We asked the bartender there if he had seen Beth and Ryan, but he had not, so we called down to their room.  Beth was there so we planned on meeting them to go out on the Sun Deck.  However we all needed to go to lunch first.  There was a special Mexican Buffet in the Horizon Court, so we all agreed to go to that for our lunch.  It was a unanimous decision to have a Dos Equis beer to go along with our Mexican lunch, so Beth and I  headed just outside to the Outrigger Bar to get the beers.  Unfortunately, they only had three Dos Equis beers left in their cooler, so Beth ordered a Bud Light instead.  I guess no one told that bar that there was a Mexican Lunch Buffet right inside from them, so they had not stocked up on their Mexican beer.

The lunch was really good, there was quite a selection of fajita meats, enchiladas and all of the sides, along with everything for tacos.  It was a great lunch.

Afterward, we headed out to the Sun Deck by the pool to sit out in the sunshine.  It was much more crowded than on the sea days at the beginning of the cruise, but we were still able to find four sun lounge chairs together.

Heading Back To The Cabins After A Day At The Pool

Of course, we may have had a few beverages while we were relaxing in the sun on a beautiful Caribbean day.

Much later in the afternoon, the four of us headed back to our cabins to clean up and get ready for dinner.  The lunch was very filling so we were just going to eat in the buffet for dinner tonight.  It was the last Formal Night, and we just did not have the energy to get dressed up.  We planned on meeting at Vines again before dinner for a glass or two of wine, along with some of their sushi and tapas, which are really good, and a great snack before dinner.

Sunset At Sea

Dinner in the buffet was good, but nothing special, but we ate enough to get satisfied, and did not have to spend a lot of the evening eating in the dining room.  Stephanie and I  headed over to the Crooner’s Bar to visit with Kelvin and Alona, the bartenders there. Beth and Ryan were tired, so they called it a night and headed back to their cabin.

There was a balloon drop party scheduled to take place in the Atrium at 11:00 PM, so we stayed at Crooner’s to watch that event.

Balloon Drop Dance Party

We did not mention earlier that we were now on Atlantic Standard Time, not Eastern Standard Time.  The time had changed the second night of the cruise so that the ship would be in the same time zone as the ABC Islands.  We had lost an hour early in the cruise, but we knew we would get it back tomorrow night, so staying out late tonight seemed appropriate.

Stephanie enjoyed people watching from our high vantage point on Deck 7 at Crooner’s, overloking the balloon drop was happening on Deck 5.  There were some interesting people attending the party, as we always seem to see on cruises.

There was a band playing music for the balloon drop party, and it was fun to listen to that while we visited with other patrons we had met at Crooner’s.

After the balloon drop party was over, Stephanie and I called it a night.
