Today is November 13, 2024, and I have just completed the revisions to all of the posts for this trip. It was much more time-consuming than I ever thought it would be. It took quite a long time to go back and add photos to each post, there were a lot of photos to process and sort through for this trip. Between the two of us, there were roughly 3,700 photos. It is nice to have the use of cell phones and digital cameras for photos, but they add up quickly in numbers.
However, this was a long trip, and while that seems like a lot of photos, over the 25-day duration of the trip, it was only about 150 photos per day!
I attempted to proofread each post as I added in the pictures, but that is not my forte. It is easy to skip over misspelled words, your brain adjusts to read what it thinks the word is supposed to be, and sometimes it is not evident it is not spelled correctly. I have a spell check and grammar program added to my browser, which helps, but only if it sees a misspelled word. For some reason, I just seem to make a lot of similar typing errors, one being the words “from” and “form”. It may take another round of proofreading to get most of the errors fixed.
In addition, we added photos to most of the photo albums, we have increased the image size for the photo albums for this trip, computer screens are generally larger and can support higher resolution and larger images, so we hope that is an improvement. We always say we want to add captions and descriptions to the photos on the albums, but that is also a time-consuming effort.
We have about decided to no longer call this a travel “blog” website, which implies we are keeping up with daily blog postings over the duration of the trip, and for this one, we did not. For this trip especially, it is more like a Travelog than a Blog, we spent more time and effort once we got home to capture the essence of the trip for us to be able to remember it in the future.
We still have aspirations to add some information in a special post about the people and religions of China, but we will see if that happens. We discussed doing that in several of the posts, but time will tell.
We have added some videos to the Travellog, see, that was not hard to say, and there are links on the side area of the main page.
As always, we have changed the travelog into normal chronological order to make it easier to read from beginning to end, unlike the blog posting order, which always has the latest, newest, post at the beginning, that is the nature of a blog.
The trip was great and we hope we have captured some of the overall beauty of China in this Travelog.
Thanks for following.
